Good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos can never be good. This is a famous expression among tattoo artists but sadly it is hardly know outside of the tattoo world which can partly explain why so many people around the world are ending up with not just bad tattoos, but tattoos that have basic, childish spelling errors like in the picture.
If you want to get a tattoo, go to your local magazine shop and buy a few tattooing magazines and educate yourself. Stat asking around in your area who the best artists are and how much the tattoos cost. The price of the tattoo should not be the most important reason why you choose one artist over another but rather who is the better artist and technical tattooing expert.

Legislated discrimination and institutional discrimination of tattoos and tattooing and of anyone who has a tattoo has decreased substantially in Western societies around the World, more so in the last twenty years than in the history of the world. This is because of the media’s positive portrayal of tattoos and tattooing and our iconization of who’s wearing them for the last forty years. Tens of famous musicians, actors, super-models are non-chalantly wearing their tattoos. On the stage, on the TV, in the movies, on the runway and publicly, this constant barrage of imagery has de-sensitized, de-mystified and sensationalized tattoos in the eyes of the average person and thus created the ripe atmosphere for the tattooing big bang that happened. The fact that more and more average, everyday people around the World have tattoos has contributed tremendously to the decriminalization and de-stigmatization of tattoos and tattooing.

Learn from the past, live for the present, but plan for the future
Tattooing is an an ancient art-form that has been around for thousands of years, since time immemorial really. Tattooing has been practiced by many different peoples all over the world for a wide variety of different reasons. Many different methods and techniques have been used to tattoo.
Tattooing is what it is today because of the personal investments and sacrifices of many tattoo artists over the period of many years. The fact that you see tattoos on people in every major city of the world today, was not always the case. Once upon a time you could not get a job if you had a tattoo that was something other than an army or marines or merchant marines tattoo.
There were times and places in our not too distant past when it was impossible to make any kind of living off of tattooing people, and yet the tattoo artist legends of tattooing persevered by continuing to tattoo despite the situation. There are still many counties in America which forbid tattooing. Tattoo artists located in those areas where tattooing is illegal have to work “underground.” Underground tattoo artists cannot advertise their existence so their business is advertised by word of mouth referrals. People who are unable to find a tattoo artist in area where tattooing is banned, travel to neighboring states to get a tattoo where it is legal. On the other hand, some of these underground tattoo artists have become legendary locally because they are so well known just from word of mouth.
